The Moon at my side,

The Stars wait ahead,

I traveled into the Night.

Gazing at the road, the trance began,

Movement seized,

Only thought remained.

Throat ran dry, neck stiff.

Subconsciously steering.

Am I still breathing?

Yes.  Barely.

Thoughts of You formulate, circulate.

Comforted by the heavy Darkness,

Seemingly driving into nothing, or everything.

You appear again.  Only you.  Always you.

Limbs grow numb, slumber dances on my eyes.

What is this spell I’m under?

I sense I’m in danger.

Suddenly, a light emerges up ahead.

Breathe is shoved back into my lungs,

My eyes break their fix from the road,

Movement is given back.

I make it out alive,

This time.

Strangely I’m eager for my next spell,

This Highway Hypnosis.
